In recent years, neuroradiologists have been asked to bear heavier workloads, both in educational and clinical settings. A survey conducted by the ASNR attempted to examine how those workloads are impacting neuroradiologists and, if so, what the reported burnout factor is in response to them.
The data was gathered through a survey sent to ASNR members. The questionnaire looked at factors such as everyday workload, shift length, and feelings of burnout. Depending on their main area of practice, between 49 percent and 75 percent of neuroradiologists reported some type of burnout. While some of the heavier workload factors don’t indicate direct causation, the correlation merits further study.
